主講人簡介:

Raised in California, Professor Roberts-Miller went to University of California at Berkeley for college, where she got a BA, MA, and Phd in Rhetoric. She has since taught in North Carolina and Missouri (where she directed first-year composition programs) and is currently a Professor of Rhetoric and Writing at the University of Texas Austin. Professor Roberts-Miller is the author of Voices in the Wilderness: The Paradox of the Puritan Public Sphere; Deliberate Conflict: Argument, Political Theory, and Composition Classes; and Fanatical Schemes: Proslavery Rhetoric and Tragedy of Consensus. She is currently working on a book on demagoguery, and another book on the craft of scholarly writing. The book on demagoguery, tentatively titled Erotics of Outrage: The Perils and Pleasures of Demagoguery is under contract with University of Alabama Press (expected publication 2015).
